I have to say, Old Town Kopitiam is somewhat of a phenomenon here in Malaysia. It has grown so fast that everywhere you go, theres an Old Town around, and it is usually filled with people. Especially within the PJ / Damansara areas. I think people like it since it fills a gap in between your mamak stalls and your starbucks and coffee beans. A place where people wanna have a cheap (relatively) drink and decent ambiance to hang out. L introduced me to Xi Mut Milk Tea there, and it has been my favourite drink there for some time now. Just tastes different from your normal tea ais, and also different to the Milk Tea at Yippee Cup.

Went to see Sherlock Holmes today. One of the best movies I have watched in a while. Somehow, Robert Downey Jr is just getting better and better, and also getting much better roles as well. The whole movie was just fast paced enough, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait for part 2, and Prof Moriarty, as per implied at the end! Before that, went for some of the normal fare tea ais at the Tea Tarik Place in the curve. Nice place to hang out while waiting for the movie, and hang out there quite often as well.

The madam just looooves bubble tea. Bubble tea actually comes from Taiwan and the original milk tea with pearl which i just enjoy all the time is sort of like teh ais we get but with evaporated milk (i think) and has “bubbles” in it, which is sort of like some starchy stuff made into balls. We go to Yippee Cup in SS2 all the time, such that the waitress there just knows what we usually order already!

Spent the whole day hunting for cloth material in Jakel Jalan TAR with L. (Phew, finally managed to sort out ALL our cloth requirements! Almost bought the whole shop! LOL). Went for a break at CapSquare close by, and saw this graffiti on the wall of the swanky new shopping mall. Don’t know whether it is there by plan, or it is original vandalism-ed graffiti action goin on there.

Happy new year! Had a good new year celebration with close friends and L at a friends place in DP. This is the view from the apartment of the fireworks from the Curve and One Utama. Had a good time barbeque-ing food, and chicken wings (which was awesomely marinated by Tesco. The masala marinated wings ROCK!!!). Abysmal photo of the fireworks from my e61i phone cam!  Resolution for the new year is 1) to get married  (should be by 2Q 2010), 2) to get an apartment / place to stay, (by 1Q 2010) and 3) get a new, proper job (by 1Q 2010). Looks like my first quarter of the year will be DAMN hectic. Heres hoping for an AWESOME year!!

On the last day of the decade, I went to have scones with cream and jam for a late brunch with my sister and mum at the bread shop in Damansara Heights, right next to de-Canter restaurant. Really really love the scones there, but their other pastries, such as their chocolate danish is awesome as well. And the decor of the place is also pretty nice as well.

Malay College Kuala Kangsar. Spent a couple years of my life at this institution. Had a lot of memories here. Made a lot of friends here. Coming back to KK always brings back all the good memories i had there. “And the memories shall remain…” Fiat Sapienta Virtus!

Dropped by for lunch at this restaurant called Teratai somewhere near Padang Besar for some food lovin. The sambal tumis udang with petai is just to die for! But food there generally is really really hot! They put in booby traps all over the place, where by booby traps i mean chilli padi, and when i say all over the place, i mean its in ALL the food! PIPPIN HOT YO!

The scenery was so good that day, and the sky and clouds were so nice that I just cant resist to post another picture of the place!
